Oakwood girls' varsity golf beat Northmont at Meadowbook Tuesday, Aug. 28 191-213.  Lauren Hapgood was match medalist, shooting a 42.

Varsity swept Franklin on the road 25-9, 25-22, 25-12 behind the serving of Myra Hamilton and Emma Gordon with defensive help from Ashton Tucker and Izzy Caruso.

Jills beat Valley View in the Pit

Playing in the Pit, the Jills varsity volleyball team rallied twice in the first two sets to beat a scrappy and motivated Valley View team 27-25, 25-23, 25-19.

The Jills were lead by the serves of Anna Millard, defense of Stephanie Joseph and hits from Carleigh Crowl.

Boys' varsity golf picked up a second SWBL win Tuesday, beating Brookville 159-170. Alex Grant led the team with a 37, followed by Tom McCarthy with a 39, Sam Lahmon shot a 41, and Ryan Quigley and Dan Flannery both carded 42's.

Boys' varsity golf came away with a decisive win in the team's first SWBL match of the season Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Sugar Valley Golf Club. The Jacks finished with a team score of 149 to Bellbrook's 180.

The boys' varsity golf team picked up its third SWBL win today, with a 159-199 victory over Monroe. Sam Lahmon led the team with a 37.

Boys' varsity golf survived the Firebird Invite in oppressive heat and humidity to place 6th out of 19 teams at Beavercreek Golf Club with a team score of 322. Sam Lahmon led the Jacks with a 76.

OHS varsity boys' golf won the SWBL title today with a score of 318, beating the field by 10 strokes.  Sophomore Tom McCarthy led the team with a 77. Senior Sam Lahmon was named player of the year.

OHS Field Hockey team celebrates a 3-2 win over Summit Country Day

Oakwood High School varsity field hockey is 1-0 in the SWOFHL  after a 3-2 season-opening win over Summit Country Day Tuesday, Aug. 21.

Junior Jaelynn Nelson Mays scored all three OHS goals.

The Jills played their home opener Sept. 8 against the visiting Lancaster Gales.  Senior Captain and Center Midfielder Katie King put the Jills on the scoreboard first. Senior Forward Tess Henderson added two more goals for the Jills.

Girls' varsity tennis is celebrating a big win after claiming the title in the Pickerington Central Doubles Invitational Saturday, Aug. 18. The Jills beat out seven other top teams from around the state to win the pre-season event.

Members of the girls' tennis team supported the Pizza and Slime fundraiser at Harman School Friday, Aug. 31. The fundraiser benefitted the Hope - It's a Beach Thing 5k to raise funds for brain cancer research.

Cross Country

Runners in the Miamisburg Invitational

The Oakwood High School cross country teams ran at the Miamisburg Invitational Saturday, Sept. 1. The girls finished 10th out of 15 teams, with the boys placing 14th out of 25 teams.

Oakwood’s top finishers in the varsity race for the Jacks were junior John Siskaninetz (70th, 19:20) and sophomore Scott Caley (73rd, 19:23). Rounding out the top seven finishers for Oakwood were Will Ayres (84th, 19:45), Connor Lockhart (101st, 20:21), Ryan Eldridge (106th, 20:41) and Robert Hochwalt (108th, 20:56). 

The top girl for OHS was Mary Kidwell

The top finishers for the Jills were seniors Mary Kidwell (20th, 21:29), Hannah Potter (58th, 23:59), Aria Kupka (68th, 24:34), Marissa Dewing (70th, 24:50) and Holly Cassidy (83rd, 25:52). Rounding out the top seven finishers for Oakwood were Julia Guzman (91st, 26:49) and Cate Bowman (92nd, 27:11).
