What's Happening in the Guidance Department

May 3, 2019 Update

The guidance office is busy with the scheduling process for next year.  All students have completed and verified their course selections.  The master schedule for next year will be built around these course selections with an attempt to avoid course conflicts.

College Decisions:  May 1 was the deadline for seniors to commit to the college of their choice.  As soon as senior students have made their decision, they must notify that college of their intent to attend.  They also need to inform the guidance office of all of the decisions they have received.  As a courtesy, it is also recommended that they notify the schools they have not chosen so that opportunities will become available for wait-listed students. As students receive scholarship offers, they are asked to fill out a form with specific information about the scholarship and the amount awarded.  The form is available in the guidance office.  We want all scholarship offers (whether they are accepted or not). The scholarship total for the Class of 2019 will be announced at the end of the year – not individual totals.

Senior Survey: All seniors are required to complete the "senior survey" which allows the district to gather important information. The senior survey will be located in each senior's Family Connections/Naviance account. Seniors will be notified by email and announcements when the survey is available for completion.  If seniors have difficulty accessing this site, please see Mrs. Lumpkins, Mrs. Owens, Mr. Woessner, or Mrs. Johnson in the guidance office.
