Scholarships

This scholarship is for a senior planning to major in the fiber arts field, which may include fiber art, fiber technology, fabric design, and fashion design. The student must have a 3.0 GPA and exhibit well-rounded qualities such as community service, employment, participation in sports, and/or other school activities.

Recognizes an outstanding senior tennis player who demonstrates good sportsmanship, leadership, and academic achievement.

This scholarship is awarded to a student planning to attend Washington & Lee University.

Any senior who is a member in good standing of the National Forensic League, Speech and Debate, Theatre and/or Thespians shall be eligible to apply for this scholarship.  

This scholarship is for a senior who has been accepted to a two or four-year college or university.  Criteria for the scholarship include community service, scholarship, need, and career goals.  The FOP Scholarship Committee of the Oakwood Safety Department makes the selection. 

This scholarship is awarded to a proficient female golfer.

The family of Melissa McGill Church (2007 OHS graduate) established this scholarship in 2022 to honor her life and memory.  As an occupational therapist for the Brownsburg (IN) Community Schools, Melissa devoted her life to helping her special needs students every day and all those she worked with. The scholarship will be awarded to a recipient who intends to enter a medical field:  physician, nurse, occupational or physical therapy, psychology, etc.

This scholarship is for a senior who attended OHS for two years and has been accepted to an accredited two or four-year college or university.  Criteria include scholarship, need, and career goals.  Applicants must be either a child of an educator or planning to major in education.  The selection is done in mid-May by a cross-section of teachers from all buildings in the Oakwood district.
 

This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding senior band member.
 

Awarded to a senior golfer who demonstrates sportsmanship, consideration for others, academic achievement, leadership and service.  

The scholarship will be awarded to high school seniors who have shown extraordinary resilience to a personal or family life challenge.  Examples include family, personal, health, physical, emotional, mental health, and all other scenarios where resilience has been demonstrated.

Recipients of this scholarship must be accepted at a two or four-year college or university.  Criteria for the two or three grants include scholarship, need, and career goals.  Children of Rotary Club members are not eligible.  The selection committee is composed of the Oakwood Rotary Scholarship Committee.  The scholarship is focused on service.

There is also a financial needs requirement for this scholarship, so you must have your FAFSA information.

1. Children of fallen law enforcement officers
2. Family members of fallen law enforcement officers
3. Family members of living law enforcement officers

5. Reapplying scholarship recipients currently pursuing degrees in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Forensics, Education, or Social Work

DREAM offers scholarships to candidates who identify as a Person of Color or an individual who supports and/or advocates for marginalized groups.  You may qualify if:

• You are pursuing or plan to pursue a degree in education;
• You are enrolled in college and can provide written proof that you have been accepted in the College of Education and are pursuing coursework to obtain teacher licensure from an ODE accredited college or university;
• You are a graduating senior from a member district (yes, Oakwood is a member) with the intent to pursue teacher.

Established in 1985 by Col. Nathan R. Rosengarten to reward academic excellence of the children and grandchildren of WPAFB military and civilian personnel.

Criteria:

• Must be a child or grandchild of a full-time civilian or active duty military employee currently assigned to WPAFB, Ohio.  (Children/grandschildren of Reservists, Contractors, or Non-Appropriated Fund employees not eligible.)
• HS Senior in 24-25.
• Cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 unweighted.
• Must provide an official transcript from all high schools.
• Must have an ACT Composite Score of at least 27 or SAT of at least 1200.
• Must clearly show intentions to attend a university for the purpose of recieiving a bachelor's degree from an accredited program which has a Non-Discriminatory policy towards students.
