Members of the Oakwood High School speech and debate team demonstrated their resilience and flexibility Saturday, Jan. 9, competing in the Canfield Kiwanis Speech and Debate Tournament.  For the first time this season, all of the participants competed from home. 

The team of Lily Meehan and Clara Leach were the top finishers for OHS, placing first in Public Forum debate.  Tess Patton and Julia Neal placed fifth in the same category.

In Informative Speaking, Bryn Cortez placed third.  Michael Ritschel finished in fourth place in Lincoln-Douglas debate and Quinn MacDonald finished in sixth place in Humorous Interpretation.  Gabby Vish was a finalist in Congressional Debate.

OHS finished in fifth place out of 40 in the team sweepstakes.
