COViD cell

Oakwood Schools was notified Friday, April 16 two OHS students have tested positive for COVID-19.  One student was last in attendance April 13, the other student was last in attendance April 15.  To protect the confidentiality of the individual, we will not be sharing additional information regarding the individual.

After conducting an investigation with the support of Public Health Dayton & Montgomery County and following CDC guidelines, students and staff determined to have “close contact” and/or “general exposure,” to the individual who tested positive have been notified directly.  Health recommendations from the CDC regarding “close contact” and “general exposure” were included in the notification.

Once completing the required quarantine period, being fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication, and seeing an improvement in symptoms, the individual who tested positive will be cleared to return to school.  Individuals determined to have “close contact” with the individual who tested positive and show no symptoms of COVID-19 will be cleared to return to school following the required quarantine period.
