Beginning with the Fall 2022 season, Oakwood Schools will allow students to earn a PE Waiver to meet the physical education graduation requirements. Prior to this fall, students were required to earn .5 PE credits to graduate by taking two .25-credit classes during the school day, participating in PE in summer school for two summers or completing an approved Credit Flex academic plan to earn the credits.
Moving forward, students will continue to have the option of earning .5 PE credits or earning a PE Waiver by participating in interscholastic athletics, marching band and/or cheerleading for two full seasons or two full years, based on the activity’s requirement in the Ohio Department of Education statute.
For more information, students should contact their school counselor. For information on the Guidance Department's summer schedule, visit the OHS Guidance Department web page.
