Oakwood High School Speech and Debate team members will take a break from their virtual competition schedule until after the first of the year, following a solid performance in the team’s largest tournament of the year so far.

OHS placed fifth in the team sweepstakes at the Wadsworth Tournament, facing 39 teams and more than 600 competitors across all the events.

In Dramatic Interpretation, Natalie Bridgewaters placed third.  The team of Lily Meehan and Clara Leach placed fourth in Public Forum Debate.  Sam Stack placed fifth in Humorous Interpretation.  In the Program Oral Interpretation category, Lane Bokros placed fifth and Shayla Fredrick ninth.  In Original Oratory, it was Aila Carr-Chellman sixth, Marley Wiemers eighth and Lauren Hamiel ninth.  In Congressional Debate Jack Benbow placed sixth and Marcela Strombeck made the final chamber.
