Career Technical Education
OHS Partners with Centerville, Fairmont
Oakwood, Centerville and Kettering High Schools participate in a Career Tech compact to provide career-technical education opportunities to students at the three schools.
As a result of this partnership, OHS students are eligible to apply for programs offered at CHS and FHS (see lists below).
The Centerville Kettering Oakwood Career Technical Planning District (CPTD) is one of five districts in the state to receive all A's and 1 B on the Ohio Department of Education State Report Card for the Class of 2018.
The CPTD report cards include specific marks of performance, called measures, within broad categories called components. Grades are give for up to four measure and four components.

Complete the Career Cluster Inventory and the results will suggest career options that best relate to your interests. The questions should take around 20 minutes to complete.
Members of the Class of 2022 will gather in the OHS auditorium Thursday, Jan. 9, during 3rd period to hear a Career Education presentation by representatives of Fairmont and Centerville High Schools.
After the presentation, students will have the opportunity to take permission slips for visits to the high schools to tour the programs that interest them. The visit to Centerville High School will be Jan. 15 and to Kettering Fairmont Jan. 31. Both tours will run from approximately 9:00-10:45. The permission slips are due in the Oakwood Guidance Office by Jan. 13 for the Centerville visit and by Jan. 27 for the Fairmont visit. These are firm deadlines. Due to transportation schedules, permission slips turned in after the due date will not be accepted.
A Career Expo for students and parents will be held at CHS for programs offered there Wednesday, Jan. 15, from 7-8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center (PAC). Fairmont will host an information session for programs offered there for students and parents in the FHS commons area Monday, Feb. 3, from 6-7 p.m.
If, after touring the program, your student is interested in participating in one of these opportunities, they will need to submit a completed application. There are two spots in every program reserved for OHS students and the selection process is somewhat selective. Please note, CHS requires a signed acceptance offer returned to secure the spot.
