Class of 2024 Information
On Wednesday, Jan. 5, the entire sophomore class will gather in the auditorium during 3rd period to hear a Career Education presentation by representatives of Fairmont and Centerville High Schools. After the presentation, all students will have the opportunity to take permission slips for visits to the high schools to tour the programs they might be interested in.
The visit to Centerville High School will be Jan. 11 from 9:15 - 10:05 and to Kettering Fairmont on Jan. 28 from 9:05 - 9:55. The permission slips are due in the Oakwood Guidance Office by Jan. 7 for the Centerville visit and by Jan. 26 for the Fairmont visit. These are firm deadlines. Due to transportation schedules, permission slips turned in after the due date will not be accepted.
There is a Career Expo for students and families at Centerville High School for the programs offered at Centerville High School on the same day as the tour, Jan. 11, from 7 - 8 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center (PAC).
Fairmont will host an information session for the programs offered at Fairmont High School only for students and families in the FHS cafeteria/commons area Tuesday, Feb. 1, from 6 - 7 p.m. The programs offered at CHS and FHS are listed on the OHS website. If, after touring the program, your student is interested in participating in one of these opportunities, they will need to complete and submit an application by the deadline.
There are two spots in every program reserved for Oakwood students, and the selection process is somewhat selective. Please note, Centerville High School requires an acceptance offer to be signed and returned to them to secure the spot.
